Rockne
Rockne White is a pioneer of Calgary’s Ashtanga & Rocket Yoga. Originally from Lumsden, Saskatchewan, Rockne, now 51 years of age, held a well attended classes in Calgary since 1993. He then opened his own studio in January 2000. Initially called ‘Yoga in Motion’, it was later renamed ‘The Yoga Passage’. After moving to Penticton, BC, he became a first graduate of The South Okanagan Yoga Association (now Academy) and a senior Yoga teacher at the 500 hours plus level with the Yoga Alliance in the USA. He has been a regular teacher at Reflexions Studio since 2006. Many of Calgary’s top Ashtanga/Power based yoga teachers and Yoga studio owners remember Rockne for his early teacher training programs which started in 1997.
Fruv Freedomwear located in Whistler and Penticton, BC is excited to have Rockne White as part of their Flowteam. Besides being a model for the clothing line, Rockne has input on design.
Rockne has practiced yoga for 21 years, and started teaching Yoga in the early to mid-90’s, shortly after discovering Bryan Kest’s Power Yoga (Santa Monica) and Larry Schultz’s Rocket Yoga (San Francisco). More recently, he has worked one-on-one with David Williams of Maui whenever he takes time off from Yoga Dorks, a non-profit organization focused on outdoor acro-Yoga. Rockne co-Founded the Yoga Dorks worldwide fellowship in 2010 with Jen Wheaton of Penticton.
